27" Nylon flight satin MA-1 jacket with tonal Schott embroidery on left arm. The MA-1 bomber jacket 9628 was first introduced in the 1950's, but you could say that it's history goes back to 1935 when Dupont introduced synthetic thermoplastic polymer fiber that was used to create the first ever NYLON fabric. This revolutionary fabric was originally created for the U.S. Military. The U.S. Military first used it for parachutes, but soon it was put to use in many ways, including Flight Jackets.
